Screaming kids, playing games
Shouting at each other, driving me insane
Banging doors, slaming toys
Squeaky girls and noisey boys
Always making a mess, never being quiet
Leaving mess and mayhem, it's like a bloody riot
Why can't they play together, calm and nice
We need something special, a peaceful device
A thing that makes them stop, making all that noise
I want silent girls, I want some quiet boys
Just for half an hour, I need a little peace
Make them stop this noise, someone make it cease
No chattering, no shouting, no mess
No fighting, no scratching, no stress
Just thirty minutes of nothing, completely sedate
Let me catch my breath again, that would be great
My ears would stop buzzing, my head won't ache
My nerves would not be shattered, I'd love a coffee break
And then they'll go to bed, argue for a while
But then there will be silence, he says; with a smile...
